The U of C welcomes international students! Academically-qualified students from all over the world study here. EAP also welcomes Canadian citizens, landed immigrants and permanent residents of Canada to our program.
Many students who need English Language Proficiency (ELP) choose to come to the English for Academic Purposes (EAP) program to satisfy this additional admission requirement. Gaining proficiency in the English language is often the first place a student needs to begin. The EAP program assists both prospective undergraduate and graduate students to gain English language proficiency.
The EAP program was created to provide students intending to study in degree programs at the U of C with an on-campus program to help them achieve their academic goals. Students in EAP gain fluency in their use of the English language while learning in an academic environment which prepares them for their university studies. The program is full-time and intensive.
Please take a few moments to browse through the EAP website at the programs offered. Side links on the left provide additional helpful information.
