How do I apply? The EAP Office requires:
Open Studies Application: http://www.ucalgary.ca/ose/newstudentsopenstudies
1. the completed and signed application form to include a clear postal address, and clear
working email address.
2. photocopies of Transcripts (marks) from High school and any post secondary studies
you may have.
3. $35.00 Canadian application fee
4. $250.00 Canadian non-refundable language assessment fee
Note: Payments can be made by credit card by completing credit card information or by enclosing a bank draft/money order.
5. Minimum Language Proficiency requirement: For Open Studies students, it is recommended, but not necessary that students have language proficiency at about TOEFL 70; or equivalent; or IELTS 5.5.
If admission to a degree program is your goal and you need English Language proficiency, EAP is the only program at the University of Calgary that will help you. Before you begin your classes, you will take language assessment activities and your results will place you into an appropriate Tier of either in the EAP Program or the PREP Program (Bridge Program to EAP).
Processing of the Application:
1. The Coordinator reviews the application for missing information and sends it to the Office of the Registrar.
2. The student is admitted to the one year EAP program.
3. The Office of the Registrar assigns a student number and, for International Students, issues a one-year Letter of Admission Canadian Immigration purposes.
4. The EAP Program will register you into EAP classes.
note: The EAP Office will send you an email about 6 weeks prior to the start of classes with details about the first week.
International Students: Canadian Immigration Study Permit
International Students must have a valid Study Permit that allows study at Post Secondary
(Colleges, Technical Institutes, Universites) level. Please contact Canadian Immigration for this important document.Important Links:
